Sweetbay Supermarket announced today a $75,000 contribution to the Children’s Museum of Naples. The museum’s newest corporate partner will receive naming rights to the mini-market tot lot exhibit located within The Produce Market. In addition to the new exhibit, Sweetbay’s grant will also include a scholarship program in support of the museum’s educational outreach programs.
“This is exciting news for us, and we are grateful for the support and resources Sweetbay is providing,” said Joe Cox, the museum’s executive director. “C’mon is pleased to team up with Sweetbay Supermarket to give kids the opportunity to role play and socially interact as well as facilitate a strong foundation for early math learning.”
The Children’s Museum of Naples will be Collier County’s first learning environment devoted exclusively to child’s play, the serious business of discovery that helps children attain hallmark milestones on the journey into adulthood. Construction is under way on a two-acre site on Livingston Road south of Immokalee Road. The completed facility will be a LEED-certified green building, fully accessible to all children regardless of their physical or learning abilities.
“For Sweetbay, partnering with the Children’s Museum of Naples is a natural fit,” said Nicole Lebeau, director of marketing for Sweetbay Supermarket. “This incredible new project presented the ideal venue to help communicate one of our community goals for better nutrition as well as our passion for fresh-picked produce. Sweetbay is proud to create an exhibit devoted to teaching children how to choose nutritious foods.”
