Bank of Florida’s Cordero earns CAMS anti-money laundering designation

Lilliam (Lily) M. Cordero, vice president and corporate Bank Secrecy Act officer for Bank of Florida Corp., recently earned the designation of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist. She successfully completed a rigorous examination that was conducted by the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialists and covered risk and methods of money laundering, international standards, designing and implementing programs and conducting and supporting investigations. The examination provides an objective measure of a professional’s knowledge of industry practices, anti-money laundering standards and other areas crucial in the field. The CAMS credential is increasingly becoming the gold standard in the industry and is recognized by financial institutions and governments worldwide.
“The CAMS designation sets Lily apart from her peers,” said Michael McMullan, Bank of Florida Corp. president and CEO. “The designation shows clients, regulators and examiners that we are serious about combating money laundering.”
Cordero joined Bank of Florida Corp. in 2006 and oversees the bank’s anti-money laundering and Bank Secrecy Act programs. She has 26 years of experience in financial industries and holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Barry University.
